The sunshine is bringing out the best in British fruit and veg, and we have a great array of scrummy local produce to choose from.
Courgettes, broadbeans, tomatoes and aubergines are all in full flow, and because of the cold spring, the delayed asparagus is still going, although it is now in its final week or so before they stop cutting and let it gather it’s strength for next year. We have lovely new potatoes, bunched carrots and radishes and brocolli is looking good as well.
Our strawberries are from Titchfield, with raspberries and gooseberries from Kent, with some Chichester ones due shortly. We have delicious cherries, flat peaches and nectarines.
We have mixed salad leaves from Tuppenny Barn and if you are interested in a weekly veg box, then the Tuppenny Barn box is wonderful. It is cheaper than those national veg box schemes, with most of the produce grown and harvested organically at their small holding in Southbourne.
