There is nothing like shellfish to get you in the mood for Valentine’s and we have some great options this week. Local Rye Scallops – either loose or in the shell – make a scrummy and simple starter that marry well with smoked bacon and a squeeze of lemon.
A dozen oysters on the half shell is a cracking way to start off a Valentine’s day meal – and our little Irish beauties are simple to deal with. If you want a shucking lesson, let me know and we can have a practise run on Friday.
We also have mussels or palourde clams – that make a spectacular Spagetti Vongole.
