Well I have to say that it’s been a pretty tough week, taking a couple of food photos and then eating everything.  It’s all part of quality control. My brunch of Chocolate Buttermilk Pancakes with Whipped Cream, followed by Rump Steak, Fried Duck Egg and Chips was extremely satisfying.  The pancakes were light and delicious, and the rump steak was perfect if accompanied by a bike ride or walk around the park (not so great if sat at your desk writing a newsletter).

Our brunch is available from 10am from Wednesday to Sunday, accompanied by coffee, tea or locally pressed apple juice; it’s a perfect way to start your weekend.  With the whole Stansted Estate on your doorstep, 36 miles of footpaths to explore, the autumn colours starting, and ancient woodland or views to the sea to enjoy, you can reward yourself with a delicious brunch.  We have outside seating and welcome dog walkers and cyclists.

There is a superb leaflet produced by the South Downs National Park on the Stansted Forest that shows a couple of woodland walks that incorporate burial mounds, pits and ancient field boudaries, as well as World War Two groundworks.  Either pick up a leaflet at the shop, or you can download the outdoor discovery app here.

If you would prefer something on the go, then our homemade pasties, sausage rolls, salted almond brownies, chocolate chip cookies and carrot cake will set you straight.

 Here is this week’s menu…
