Our Christmas Taster Night is looking good – with Gavin cooking a glorious Sandridge Gammon and a Walters turkey that he will carve for you to taste on the night. We will have mulled wine, gorgeous G&T’s from Chichester Harbour Gin and the finest English Sparkling from Ashling Park. As an added bonus, Mike will be offering tasters of Chalice Mead and Jonathan will be sampling some of the latest Emsworth Brewhouse beers.

Tom and Emma will be holding forth at the deli counter with a wide selection of Hampshire and Sussex Cheeses to taste, alongside typical Christmas favourites such as Cropwell Bishop Stilton. Remind yourself just how good Tunworth and Isle of Wight Blue cheeses are, try Goodwood’s aged Charlton Cheddar and dip into a creamy Beau Goat’s cheese.

We will also have canapes with pate, beef and truffle crostini and smoked trout from Chalkstream Trout. The more I read about the farmed salmon industry, the more I favour our delicious, locally sourced and smoked trout. It’s a superb product, stands alongside the finest smoked salmon, and is sustainable, healthy and award-winning.

Our butchers, Lee and Ray are putting on a mighty display of meaty wonders to inspire your festive eating, and Gavin will be preparing Venison Wellingtons, Game Pies and bespoke sausage rolls (Pork encroute anyone?)
