A mature Quickes Cheddar Truckle is a wonderful thing to have over Christmas – cloth bound, inviting a dig as you pass by, this is a serious piece of cheese.

It’s described as a complex creamy cheddar that offers outstanding depth of flavour. An exquisitely distinctive taste which develops as it reaches the back of the palate. Typically matured for 12 to 15 months.

Pair with English stout or pale ale as well as a glass or two of red wine, the flavour profile is rich and creamy – from brothy to grassy.

We are offering whole truckles, halves and quarters with a whole costing £36, half £19 and quarter £10. To best look after your cheese, keep refrigerated. To enjoy this cheese at its best, eat within 7 days of opening and by the best before date shown. Once opened we recommend wrapping your cheese in greaseproof paper and storing in an air-tight container in the fridge.

There are two ways you can serve it, either cutting it like a cake, or taking the top off and using a cheese slicer or sharp knife to take thin slivers off the top.  We only have a small Christmas allocation, so if you are interested in having any, let me know or order at the deli counter.
