Our congratulations to Cowdray Farm Shop for winning Sussex Food Shop of the Year at the Sussex Food and Drink Awards last night. We were extremely proud to have reached the Grand Final, and we are determined to keeping building on what we have created at the Stansted Farm Shop and will aim to come back as winners next year.
We had a superb evening with drinks and dinner, sitting at a table with two of our producers: Wobblegate crushed fruit juices and Bookham Harrison Farms, makers of the delicious Southdowns butter, Sussex Charmer & Twineham Grange Cheeses. Gavin will be putting a Sussex Charmer Cheese toastie on the menu in Rob Bookham’s honour, and we will have a tasting of Wobblegate’s hugely refreshing and delicious apple juices soon.
Thank you to all those who kindly voted for us, your support is hugely appreciated and has helped to raise our profile. We will be asking for your vote again next year, but only after continuing to make improvements in the shop, as we continue to build the business to the best we can. We were thrilled to see such inspiring talent, new products and producers and to witness the continued growth and innovation from Sussex food and drink producers. We look forward to stocking up the farm shop with new produce soon.
