This week we have brought back our premium pesto, it’s the best you can get.

The reason it is so good is that it is made fresh and is unpasteurized, so the flavours are as vibrant as if you had made it yourself.  Using Parmigiano Reggiano, PDO Genovese basil, pine nuts and Extra Virgin Olive Oil (a bit of garlic, sunflower oil and citric acid) it is loaded with the finest ingredients to create an exquisite umami-rich flavour.

Grown by Mario Anfossi in Liguria, a region noted within Italy for the flavour of its basil. In fact, to prove it, Mario has grown potted plants at the furthest corners of Italy to prove a legal case that Ligurian basil does in fact taste different to any other, and earn its status as a product protected from imitations under EU law. Winner of a Great Taste star.

While it is perfect with pasta, you can also improve your sandwiches, use as a pizza topping, in dips and marinades, and in salad dressings. It will bring the flavours of Italy to any dish.

Available from the deli by the spoonful, we will also have some tubbed and ready to go.
