We have been stocking Cornish Gouda for over a year, but a few of our customers have been asking if they can get hold of the Gouda with Cumin that they occasionally produce, so Tom has delivered.

Made by a Dutch family, the Spierings, on their dairy farm in Cornwall, and inspired by their 19-year-old son who realized that they needed to diversify away from milk when he found a ‘For Sale’ sign on return from college in 2012. This is a hand made cheese that is produced solely by using milk from the family’s pedigree herd. All cows are born and reared on the farm, and fed by crops grown on its land. Every stage of cheese production is powered by a biomass boiler fuelled by sustainable forestry where on completion each cheese is matured in an eco-friendly storage facility.  The farm is still in family hands with Cornish Gouda creating a viable, booming business.

The cheese is delicious, and the cumin version a welcome addition to the cheeseboard.
