Tenderstem Brocolli with Flaked Almonds and Anchovies

Set up your BBQ or Big Green Egg for direct grilling at 200°C

Serves 6


  • 1 jar of anchovies in oil
  • A handful of flat-leaf parsley
  • 150g whole almonds
  • 250g butter, softened
  • 500g Tenderstem broccoli
  • Rapeseed oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 lemons, halved


  1. Chop the anchovies, flat leaf parsley and almonds, and mix together with the softened butter.
  2. Drizzle the broccoli with rapeseed oil and sprinkle with salt, then place on the heated bbq griddle.
  3. Turn every 5 minutes. Once it begins to char, add dollops of your flavoured butter on top, holding half back. Place your lemons face down alongside the broccoli to char.

  4. Remove the broccoli once it’s cooked but still has a bite to it. Transfer to a plate and add the remaining butter on top to melt through. Finish with a squeeze of the burnt lemon and serve immediately.
