We have special Valentine’s love hearts this weekend, with Godminster Organic Cheddar hearts and Neufchâtel Brie hearts, as well as truffle cheddars or a select cheeseboard.

Godminster cheddar is made from their own herd of 320 cows on Godminster Farm in Somerset.  The herd is fully organic. This means the grass the cows graze on is never exposed to pesticides or chemical fertilizers, so when you enjoy a Godminster Heart, you are helping to protect the environment while enjoying delicious cheddar. The cheddar matures for up to 12 months. At that point, we select the best cheese for our multi-award-winning truckles. It is suitable for vegetarians, contains no preservatives, and is certified organic the Soil Association.

Neufchâtel is a soft, slightly crumbly, mold-ripened, bloomy-rind cheese made in the Neufchâtel-en-Bray region of Normandy. One of the oldest kinds of cheese in France, its production is believed to date back as far as the 6th century AD, and has been imported into the UK since the 17th Century.

Of course we have the full array of local artisan cheeses to choose from as well, and if you want to get truly intimate, go for a messy, delicious Savoyard cheese fondue, with a whole Tunworth, melted into roasted potatoes, garlic, bacon and onion, perfect for a cold, cuddly night.
