Over the next two weekends, you can join up with the Chichester Open Studios and visit local artists in person in their own creative worlds. The Chichester Open Studios will be held on 22nd, 23rd, 29th, 30th April & 1st May, 2023.
There are a few artists who are very close to the Farm Shop, which could be combined with a spring time walk. Chris Gilbert is a wonderful print maker (we have some of his prints and cards in the shop) and can be found at the top of the estate, while Bryony Jennings now has a studio next to the Pavillion Tea Rooms, by the Dutch Garden, in the Fruit Room Studio, making eclectic textile animal sculpture. A bit further afield in Compton is the legendary potter Alison Sanderman with her thrown and handbuilt work in Stoneware, Porcelain and Raku.
You can enjoy a leisurely day in the countryside, discovering artists many of whom are directly inspired by the landscape of the South Downs. It’s definitely worth a visit.
