We have some spectacular summer tarts available in the deli this weekend, made with fresh Westlands Strawberries, local rhubarb or apple, they are light, delicate and indulgent. They are £2.50 each and were handmade this morning by Vicky’s husband, Alexander. They go alongside our brownies, florentines and flapjacks, pies, quiche and sausage rolls – perfect for a Bank Holiday picnic. We also have Jake’s Pork Pies and Venison Scotch Eggs.
In the cheese counter, it’s Brie time – starting with the legendary Baron Bigod, as well as local Sussex Brie and Isle of Wight Soft, or Cricket St Thomas from Somerset, you have a range of Brie to keep everyone happy. Don’t forget some fresh Mozzarella to go with our Isle of Wight tomatoes.
We have a lovely range of smoked trout, pate and potted from Chalkstream Trout, and the finest Charcuterie from Weald Smokery.
So, alongside local tomatoes and asparagus, Jersey Royal Potatoes and a local bottle of wine or beer, you are set for an alfresco picnic this weekend.
