It’s all starting again, lots of wonderful local produce arriving at the door direct from growers and farmers, with the asparagus coming direct from Slade Farm near Rogate, and delicious plump strawberries from Westlands near Wickham. Raspberries will be following soon… Isle of Wight tomatoes have the full array of locally grown varieties in spectacular shapes and sizes.
We have local pheasant eggs this week alongside our Hallgate duck eggs (I think the geese have given up), spring lamb and our butchery BBQ selection.
Every Wednesday The Mobile Fish Company are outside the farm shop with a glorious selection of dayboat and farmed fish, squid and shellfish. You can choose your fish and it will be expertly prepped by Albert or Simon in no time.
With all the incredible produce and a lovely warm spring evening, I couldn’t resist lighting the Big Green Egg for a special supper.
