It’s time to order your Christmas Turkey, Cockerel, Goose or Beef as the order book is filling up and we start running low on certain sizes as we head towards December. You can order online, over the phone (02392 413 576) or in person at the butchery counter.
We have the usual superb selection, and are very proud to say that the Walters Free-Range Turkeys won 2 Gold Stars at the Great Taste Awards this year, which is a fantastic achievement and underlines how good these turkeys taste. And so they should, as the centre piece of Christmas you should be serving the best. You have the options of Organic or Free-range, crowns or breast roast with different sizes to suit every family.
We have a small number of geese available this year from Heart of England Farms – incredibly rich and delicious, you’ll also have the best roast potatoes ever!
Cockerels are getting more and more popular – they are faster rearing than turkeys, so extremely reasonably priced for a top quality, free range bird that can get up to 6kg.
We have the usual smoked and green (unsmoked) gammons available again this year, a real crowd-pleaser and now a Christmas Eve tradition in our family with mashed potatoes and Cumberland sauce. These are superb value and the perfect multi-generational meal.
Make sure to order a Rib of Beef for a show-stopper – either for the big day itself, or between Christmas and New Years Eve, and if a rib is too much, then we also have aged ribeye steaks, sirloin, fillet and every other cut. But please do pre-order so that we can provide you with exactly the cut you want, for the right number of people.
We will have smoked trout, cheese boards, beer, wine and spirits in the shop, but if you can pre-order, then the team will assemble everything ready to be collected at a time that suits you.
