Congratulations to Luke Emmess, who has made it to the finals of this year’s MasterChef: The Professionals. Luke is head chef at the Wykeham Arms in Winchester and has been impressing judges with his incredible skills and unbelievable work rate. Luke is one of three chefs in the final, with the result of the winner being broadcast from 8pm on BBC1 tonight. I would think he has a good chance of winning the entire competition, and it’s great to see a local chef promoting regional food.
Luke was born and bred in Portsmouth and went to South Downs College studying catering. He has worked locally, but clearly has incredible talent in the kitchen. On Monday’s episode, he cooked hogget three ways for a host of Michelin-starred chefs that went down a storm, as well as ‘Fish and Chips’ inspired by his hometown of Portsmouth which looked incredible and ensured his progress into the final.
Tune in to BBC1 at 8pm tonight to see if he wins, and whatever the result, you will get to see him in person at this year’s South Downs Food Festival on 6th and 7th June! Book your tickets now, as Luke will be hugely popular.
