Big Green Egg Course

This Big Green Egg course will guide you through setting up the egg, preparing ingredients and marinades, smoking, grilling, slow-cooking, baking, and roasting. We will also look at some of the accessories available that help gets the best results for your Big Green Egg. We will finish up with a delicious meal that you have helped to prepare and cook.
The course will begin with the basics: setting up, lighting, and preparing to cook on the Big Green Egg. We will demonstrate the flexibility and ease of use of the Big Green Egg with the various different cooking modes. We will also look at wood chips and charcoal to ensure you get the best results from your Egg.
Slow cooking. We will discuss the merits of brines, marinades, and rubs as well as which cuts and ingredients work best for slow-cooking.
Roasting: Using indirect heat, we will show how to set up the oven for roasting any joint or vegetable as you would with a conventional oven.
Grilling: the Big Green Egg can do grilling like a conventional BBQ, but when you grill with the lid down, you can control the temperature precisely and avoid flare-ups so that the end result is not cremated, but cooked to perfection.
We will cook local, seasonal ingredients, with a meat dish, fish, veg, and flatbreads, all using different methods to give you the full experience of the Big Green Egg’s versatility.
The course will end with lunch from all the prepared foods and a question and answer session.
There will be free tea and coffee, with further drinks available to purchase. The course is held outside and will be hands-on, so please come dressed appropriately.
