Pan fried bream, fennel, Kohl Rabi, Sea Purslane, red pepper sauce – Cooking Demo
24 November 2013 from 12:00 - 12:40
FreeLawrence Murphy, chef and owner of Fat Olives in Emsworth, will be cooking delicious pan fried bream with fennel, kohl rabi, sea purslane and red pepper sauce. The bream is currently being caught in the solent and is one of the finest eating fish, on a par with bass. The bream stands up nicely against the distinct flavours and textures of the vegetables and sauce. The sea purslane can be foraged along our shoreline, and as one of our finest local restaurants, I shall be first in line at the tasting!
Fat Olives
Fat Olives restaurant is located in the historic town of Emsworth situated about 25 yards from the quay. The restaurant is housed in a quaint, cosy 17th century Fishermans’ cottage, with a modern comfortable feel in keeping with the quirky fisherman surrounds.
We strive to ensure our customers are able to enjoy a relaxed and informal atmosphere with friendly attentive service. All our dishes are freshly prepared on the premises using as many local suppliers within the surrounding areas, as well as fish and seafood from sustainable sources.
Fat Olives is recommended in the five main Food Guides for 2013. On 10th November 2013 in the Sunday Times Fat Olives was listed in the Top 200 “Incredible Edibles” and the Top “Cheap Eats” with the following quote from diners verdict “A tremendous dining experience”; the Murphys’ “small” fixture, in an old fisherman’s house on the hill leading to the harbour. Has a disproportionately huge fan club thanks to its “beautiful” cooking (particularly fish), “intimate” style and “lovely” service.
