Description
Flower Marie is a delicate artisan cheese made from unpasteurised sheep’s milk by Kevin and Alison Blunt on Greenacres Farm. The milk is sourced from a herd of Friesland-Dorset sheep, from Wayfield Dairy, Stratford-upon-Avon. Golden Cross Cheese make three 190-litre batches of cheese each week in both individual and cutting sizes. Flower Marie is matured for about 12 days in a room where conditions are just right for the cheese to grow its white mould rind. As this cheese ages, it develops a more intense flavour while the texture increases in gooeyness. Flower Marie is a delicate, ripened, sheep’s milk cheese, with a white bloomy rind, that hides both mushroom and citrus flavours. It won gold at the 2017 Artisan Cheese Awards.
Sold as a 200g unit.
