Y Fenni is a unique cheese originating from the Welsh countryside. This semi-hard cheese combines the traditional techniques of cheddar cheese with a Welsh twist. It takes its name from the Welsh language name of Abergavenny, where this cheese was first produced.
Y Fenni is made from cow’s milk and is infused with wholegrain mustard seeds and ale, which give it a subtle tangy and slightly spicy flavour, before it is covered in a coating of pale yellow wax. The mustard seeds add a delightful texture and a pop of heat throughout the cheese. It has a moist texture and its consistency makes it perfect for melting and spreading on toast.
